Stunning Men – Simon, welcome to Stunning Men and thank you for doing the interview.
Simon George – Thank you and I am really happy to be given this opportunity to feature on your website. This site features outstanding models and I am so pleased to be a part of that.

SM – The pleasure is all ours. May we call you Si?
SG – Yes Si is fine!

SM – Could you tell us a little about yourself and your background?
SG – I am a 19 year old man who is currently studying to be a fully trained personal trainer; I have a brilliant family and great friends who support me in whatever I do. They have all had a part in shaping my character and it is something I am forever grateful for. From a very early age I played a number of sports very competitively, it has been and always will be a huge part of my life. I strive to be the best at whatever I do because for me the feeling of winning is the best thing on the planet. I have taken my competitive edge into other aspects of my life and it continues to drive me forward in anything I put my mind to.

SM – What about the gym, the weight, the building of this stunning physique you have achieved? How did it all start?
SG – I have always been fascinated with the human body and the muscle building aspect, I still remember the first time I ever lifted a weight! Throughout my childhood I was the smallest and skinniest child in school, and I think that plays a huge part in my quest to build muscle. I started lifting weights at around the age of 13 just at home using an Arnie book to help me with the exercises, then at the age of 16 my friends and I booked a holiday to Zante, so I joined a gym for the simple reason to try and look better on the beach. After a few months I truly realised it was much more than just about having a beach body for me, it grew into a passion, and from that it grew into a way of life. Now that I have been training for 3 years it’s something I couldn’t live without, I honestly don’t think people can quite understand unless they have experienced it themselves, bodybuilding is so unique and is on my mind 24/7, the feeling of the skin tearing pumps and being able to break through physical barriers has become such a huge part of my life. We all have just one body to call our own, and we all have the power to shape it however we like, so the way I think is why not create something beautiful?

SM – Was modelling something you thought you would do growing up?
SG– Honestly no, simply because I didn’t think I would ever be tall enough, I come from a family where no one is particularly tall so I didn’t think I had the genetics for it, although now I stand at 6’2” so it has become something I am so passionate about. From the day I started lifting weights I would always look at fitness models and think, ‘that’s what I want to look like’, and now that I am in this industry and considered to have the fitness model physique it is a dream come true.

SM – You have an amazing physique, Si. What is your training regime like? Do you practise any sports?
SG – My training is very strict, I train in the gym at least 6 days a week doing a split routine and am constantly thinking about my diet, what I can and can’t eat. This for some people sounds crazy because they feel that to give up foods you really enjoy is too much, although for me the taste of success is much more satisfying that anything on this Earth. I do play sports but not as seriously as I used to whilst I was younger, I mostly do it now purely for the fun of it, I play for a football team every week and enjoy going to my boxing classes. Of course the most serious sport for me is bodybuilding.

SM – Some training days must be quite difficult? How do you keep motivated?
SG – This is a great question, purely because people think that athletes at a high level of fitness are easily motivated by what they do, but this is not the case at all, sometimes it is extremely difficult to get pumped for the gym and to have a good workout. The way I stay motivated is through how competitive I am, I am so scared of someone beating me, someone taking something that I want so badly in this industry that I cannot let myself slip, I hate the thought of failure but what I would hate so much more is the thought of failing because I have not worked hard enough.

SM – You are with CSA Models. What's the agency like?
SG – I have to give a big thank you to CSA Models because they have helped me so much to get to where i am right now. The personal approach they use is fantastic and hopefully we should do some great work together.

SM – What is your best lift at the gym?
SG – Bench press – 135KG, full ROM (touch chest) and no spot, if someone is behind you lifting the weight then it is not a weight you can lift.
Squats – 140KG for 6 Reps no belt.
Deadlift – 200KG without straps or a belt.

SM – Do you allow yourself a cheat day? If so, what is your guilty pleasure?
SG – Sometimes I will allow myself to cut loose for something I am really craving, I think it is healthy to do so, any type of sugary sour sweet is something I am a sucker for!

SM – How do you approach a challenge?
SG – When I approach a challenge I have the mind-set to give it everything I’ve got, if you fail at something but you have given it everything you have, then that in itself is a success, if I know I couldn’t have done anything more then I can rest easy and am happy with myself, and even I couldn’t complete the challenge.

SM – How do you fit bodybuilding and fitness in your life? Is it a difficult thing to achieve?
SG – Not at all, because it is the most important thing in my life, I fit everything else around my training I don’t fit training around everything else, because I love it so much it has never been difficult for me no matter how busy or tired I am.

SM – Besides fitness and modelling, what are your interests and your hobbies Si?
SG – I really enjoy the studies of our universe; I sometimes stay up all night because I am fascinated by a programme talking about space, I know this may be considered ‘geeky’ but it’s something I really enjoy; I find the whole aspect very scary yet absolutely fantastic.

SM – How do you prepare before a shoot?
SG – I like to keep my body in good shape all year round, so that when I am asked to do a shoot I am not far away from the condition I need to be in for it. If I get 2 weeks’ notice before a shoot I will spend one week drinking loads of water that I am having to go to the bathroom every 5 minutes, and then on the week leading up to the shoot I will totally dehydrate myself and cut out carbs completely, this helps suck the skin onto the muscles and really get you defined. I will also change my training style and use a rep range of 12 – 15 reps to get as pumped and vascular as possible.

SM – What do you do to have fun and relax?
SG – Mostly I just spend time with my friends and family. They all understand what I am doing therefore they know I don’t get a whole lot of time to wind down, it does mean I don’t get to spend as much time to spend with them as I used to but they understand and I am very thankful that they accept this type of lifestyle for me and are still always there for me.

SM – Do you have any role models? People who inspire you?
SG – Mainly my parents, although there are some people who have influenced my life a lot, in the bodybuilding area my greatest inspiration was Zyzz, this man changed the face of fitness for an entire generation and although he has sadly passed away his memory lives on through everyone who followed him.

SM – Now a few fun questions if we may? Do you think you are a good date?
SG – I think I’m a great date haha! Simply because I love making a girl laugh and make sure they have a great time whilst they are with me, the best way to make a girl happy in my opinion is to make them feel great about themselves.

SM – What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done?
SG – Considering my family will be reading this I can’t really say haha!

SM – Are you a brief man or a boxer kinda guy?
SG – Boxers all the way, find them much comfier!

SM – What do you listen to on your iPod?
SG – When I’m working out I listen to a lot of upbeat music, but when I am on my own jus relaxing or in my car I am a sucker for the pop songs even if they are considered girly, I love the script, one direction and Justin Bieber, and even I’ll admit they are on the girly side! Although it really depends on what mood I’m in, sometimes I’ll listen to the likes of Eminem and Linkin Park when I’m not at the gym, I enjoy a whole range of music.

SM – One last question Si, where do you see yourself and what would you like to be doing in 10 years time?
SG – Hopefully I’ll be a successful model and possibly moving into the acting world, although the main thing I would have liked to accomplish in 10 years is to have helped a lot of people reach their goals, I love helping people and making people feel better about themselves, this is priceless to me.

SM – It has been a real pleasure to interview you Si! Thank you for your time and all the best for the future!
SG – Thank you very much for giving me an interview and if anyone would like to visit my Cut and Shredded profile just click here!
